Why This Matters
Founded in 2023 by Sachin Santhosh, Salil Srivastava, Dheeraj Dhingra and Hersh Manek, Scimplify develops processes to turn raw materials, industrial waste and laboratory discoveries into high-purity materials for commercial use. Its AI-enabled platform, Scinode, combines in-house scientists and laboratories with a network of more than 500 manufacturing facilities to identify production routes, equipment and manufacturing partners.
What’s the Bigger Picture?
Scimplify is expanding its US research, processing and manufacturing capabilities, targeting materials used in semiconductors, defence, energy and AI infrastructure. Henkel and Teknor Apex, both customers, joined the round; Teknor Apex will also support its US manufacturing expansion.
The company says it serves customers in more than 40 countries, with over 40% of its portfolio focused on advanced materials for semiconductors, batteries and critical minerals. Its work includes developing a purification process for a semiconductor chemical and recovering tungsten from industrial scrap and spent catalysts.
Key Takeaways
Scimplify raised $25 million to expand US-based R&D and process development, establish local manufacturing capacity, add American manufacturing partners and secure feedstock for critical metals and rare earth materials. The strategic investment brings its total equity funding to $80 million as it seeks to build domestic production capabilities for advanced materials that are often processed overseas.
